"Proper country music delivered with style. The album opener "Monster Song" is quite simply one of the best country songs that this reviewer has heard in many a year. With apologies to Jon Landau, "I saw country future" - the question is does country know it? Superb album. ” Americana UK, 2015

"Simon Stanley Ward is a 29 year old singer and songwriter. An old-school country singer at heart, his performance brings in elements of rockabilly, soul, folk to provide a potent blend that rattles along with a sound and vigour that recalls the early days of rock n roll. With great stage presence and charisma - there is a whiff of the early Elvis about his persona - he has been pursuing his musical vision ruthlessly for the last twelve years.
Before his solo career move, Simon was the lead singer ( for over six years) with the country rock band Black Bart. This hard working four piece band toured the country and played at many festivals, releasing two EP's and a self titled album. Simon moved to London in 2010, since when he has been a prominent fixture in the capital's growing Americana scene. In the summer of 2011 he took his solo show over to the US where he played gigs in Nashville and the surrounding area of Tennessee, to great acclaim and in the following year he released his first solo EP, 'Myself to Blame', which was very well received by critics and fans alike. In 2013 Simon toured in Northern Spain with his final show being held at the prestigious Teatro Zorilla in Valladolid.
His first full solo album, released in 2015, is simply titled 'Simon Stanley Ward', underlining his view that the musical content is an accurate reflection of the man himself. It has received much praise from critics - "Proper country music delivered with style. The album opener "Monster Song" is quite simply one of the best country songs that this reviewer has heard in many a year. With apologies to Jon Landau, "I saw country future" - the question is does country know it? Superb album. ” ~ Americana UK.
Simon Stanley Ward's live performances combine self deprecation, sincerity and, above all, a big slice of fun to give an emotive, energetic performance. His music honks and tonks in a way that fits both bird-wire covered roadhouse stages and the hipster bars of Hackney, music which can pull at your heart strings yet leave you upbeat and tapping your foot all the way home!"

"Hefty praise is fully warranted on Simon Stanley Ward for channelling his style, acumen and heart into a record which resonates with acres of impressive effect. The challenge is now to raise the profile and show a wider market that a sincere brand of high quality and intelligent country music is bubbling under within the UK’s vibrant indie scene." Three Chords and the Truth, 2015
"He shines on the dead slow Another Page. It really is a terrific country song. Its reassuring to find a Brit doing their own thing and presenting something far removed for the Nashville hit machine.” Country Music People, 2015
“The most honest lyrics your gonna hear." Guilded Palace Radio 2015
"Cliché free honky-tock from the east London heartlands...The real deal!" Radio Reverb 2015
